Question Sudden Fault codes; Engine, Gearbox and ABS

Good evening.

Was just out for a quick drive and on a on-ramp i decided since its Friday, i'll let the S get some exersize.. Flat out on 1st in manuel, hit the rev limiter and auto shifted to 2nd and then when revving just past 6000 rpm there was a clear brief misfire but it kept pulling to the end.
Eased off and there we had ABS and Traction control (the A with a ring around it) light permanent on.
Car runs perfect, no hesitation or anything, idles smoothly.

Connected Vag-Com and got these 3 fault codes

Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 8D0-907-389.lbl
Part No: 4D0 907 389 E
Component: ABS/ESP allrad D26
Coding: 08397
Shop #: WSC 02314
VCID: 3163549BFB280EB6C1-5140

1 Fault Found:
18265 - Load Signal
P1857 - 35-00 - Error Message from ECU

Address 01: Engine Labels: 4D0-907-560-AVP.lbl
Part No: 4D0 907 558 J
Component: 4.2L V8/5V G 0004
Coding: 05753
Shop #: WSC 00000
VCID: 346D5D8F043A3B9EAA-5140
WAUZZZ4DZYN006218 AUZ7Z0X1128479

1 Fault Found:
16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70)
P0102 - 35-00 - Signal too Low

Address 02: Auto Trans Labels: 01L-927-156.lbl
Part No: 4D0 927 156 BN
Component: AG5 01L 4.2l5V RdW 1314
Coding: 00011
Shop #: WSC 02314
VCID: 76E9A78752C6698E54-5140

1 Fault Found:
18265 - Load Signal
P1857 - 35-00 - Error Message from ECU

Neither of the 3 codes above is possible to delete, shows right back up when deleted directly in the module.

I tried ENGINE-Measuring Block 32 : all 4 fields display 0 and do not change while driving.
I tried ENGINE Measuring Block 2: The G/S is a steady 0,56 at idle. I took it for a spin while logging and from what i can read out off the excel sheet it never reaches above 0,72 even at WOT and going all the way to the redline.

I have seen several threads in here with somewhat the same problems, but most of them also have problems with fuel banks/lambdas etc etc.

All suggestions appreciated.

Cheers.

Update:

went out this morning to start her up and she was not i the best mood. Kept dying after a little throttle. so i got her back into the driveway.

Had the car running while i started to remove the top plastic cover and the rubber hose that goes to the 'AF/Airbox, and there was not any noticable difference even when the box and MAF was disconnected.
So surely this had to be the MAF gone dead.
But I also saw that the rubber hose that goes between the pipe and the MAF/Box is nearly split in two so thats makes me unsure on which part to try first.. The broken rubber hose wil clarely make the MAF useless and might explain my low G/S readings.

Has anybody replaced the hose with Silicone or similar?

I would try the rubber hose first, must be very cheap, especially if you can find one second hand.
Or you could duct tape the split temporarily for testing

With everything connected, MAF reading should be around 3.5 to 7g/s at idle and close to 250g/s near 7000rpm!

But broken rubber must have produced an un-reliable reading for you, 0.56g/s is very low.

Also you could try cleaning the MAF. Use Isopropyl Alcohol. If you can find a glass fibre brush for cleaning electronic contacts, try gently scrubbing the metal maf element with isopropyl to remove any oxidation on the element. You will need to chop down the brush to be able to get into the gap to reach the heated element.
However if something else in the MAF has failed this wont help. May be worth a try as a temporary measure before your new MAF arrives.

Appreciate your feedback Goran.

I just bought of some Vulcanating tape and put more then enough for it to not be sucking air there any more.

Only change is that the g/s is now even lower. showing average 0,30-0,36 on idle and barely increasing at WOT. So not an improvement in any way.

Seems like the MAF has to be the guilty party this time.

according to BOSCH, this is the one i need. and of course this is the only one mye usual websites does not have (Rexbo/Mister Auto)

The MAF

This one seems to be at an OK price

http://www.buycarparts.co.uk/oen/077133471h

Searching by the Audi number 077 133 471 H

The fault could also be with the wiring, power supply to MAF or in the ECU, check out the attached pdf

I've got a spare MAF which I can loan for a swapover test if you're in the area.

I bought one ages ago to swap over to see if it affected my weird occasional lack of power issues - it didn't. Not actually sure which one is currently in the car.

Edit: Just noticed Norway!

I have missed that it's Norway as well, try this site: http://www.autodeler.co.no/oen/077133471h Looks like it's the same company and price is about the same as well.

Hehe.. Thanks for all info in regards to my problems

I have now cleaned the MAF with Isopronal and it sure looks cleaner, but no difference and the same fault codes.

To eliminate any leaks i have been all over the vacum system and intake related piping with the Quick start gas but no response to that either.
So i know there is not any Airleaks and this only leaves two options:

-Dead MAF
-Wiring problems.

I'll start off with measuring the MAF connectior(Thanks for the PDF Ainar)

Prob will order a new MAF just in case. Stealer wanted 300GBP for a new one..

Since i'm in need of the car everyday i will baby it around until the problem is fixed. Only noticable difference after reaching normal operating temperature, is that it seems be a bit more thirsty(if even possible) So i guess a faulty MAF would cause the car to run rich all the time ?

Thanks.

I see that this unit refers to the same part no as in ETKA, but the Bosch no on the one in my car now and the one mentioned at the Bosch catalogues is
0 280 218 047 / 048

The one in the link refers to another engine code (that i found yesterday but are unable to find today)

Hmmm

Have gone thru the voltage/earth test and all is the it should be according to the ElsaWin PDF.
Only thing i was not sure if needed to be checked, was the last thing regarding Wirering to the MAF. As long as the other signals i have checked are fine, should that not eliminate any wirering problems?
