Default Oops, I bought another D3!

Bought this today. Not sure if it's a good idea yet but we'll see! It has some nice spec, blue leather (looks black in pics), soft close, keyless entry, armrest phone, Bose, elusive Cantona wheels which I will be offering up to my D2 to see how they look.

I won't lie, it's tatty and rough round the edges, very tatty. Needs a thorough clean and a few things addressing like a broken indicator lens and the 'Car' button doesn't work. It clicks but the light doesn't come on and it doesn't display in the MMI. But I got it for a good price.

Well done Ollie
Sounds like a great project especially if you got it for little money which is always tempting and I would struggle to resist as well

What is your plan exactly?? Is it just the attempt to bring the D3 love back because you missed it a lot and sell D2 or just keep both??
Or have a little fun while fixing it and sell it for a little profit which will go towards upgrades on D2?

Has potential that, 3.0 petrol?

Never seen those wheels before. I like them.

Fix it, Fix the D2.
Sell both and buy something else?

Its not a bad looking motor.
The wheels do look nice.

3.0-litre V6 petrol with CVT box which will take some getting used to. Should see a solid 30-35MPG though. Only ever car I've had for a while with a CVT was a Toyota iQ which was HORRIBLE!

Unfortunately I think it is too far gone to bring back to it's former glory. It really hasn't been cared for which is a shame. 179,000 miles and no good evidence of a service for the last half of its life! I can't see myself bonding with it to be honest and I don't think I'll hold on to it for long. If anything, I'll take the 20"s off it, refurb them at some point and buy some other wheels to put back on to it.

How is the CVT in the 8? I've seen they exist, but not seen one. The shifter looks standard. Is it noticeably different from the torque converters? I've driven a few CVTs, but in lower powered ecoboxes.

They are supposed to be more efficient than a slush box aren't they?
