I got the tools (which some on order). Do I need to put the engine at TDC before I remove the heads? Or just take the heads off and worrying about it when reinstalling it?

I would yes. The factory procedure is to set everything at TDC to come apart iirc, and then wind the crank back 45 degrees before reinstalling the heads. Once the heads are back on, bring the crank back to TDC and lock it with the pin.

I am not 100% sure of this by any means but if you take a look at the picture attached it looks like it may be possible to get to the Valve springs without removing the rocker assembly. Maybe they will all pivot up enough to gain access?

I have never done this but is there not a trick where some kind of special "rope" is put into the cylinder via the spark plug hole and then when the cylinder is at tdc the rope holds the valves closed?

It doesn't sound easy but neither does removing the heads with the engine in the car

Hmm. I removed the rockers when I did Mark's head, but that may have just been because they were annoying me and it was easy. It does look like it can be done with them in from that picture though.
