Botan'gs hole + wiper linkage removal
I'll be taking care of the Botan'gs hole soon as my electric mirrors stopped unfolding due to water leaking onto the relay box and from my reading to do it properly I have to remove the wiper linkage so here are my questions:
1. What to best block the botang's hole off? I was thinking a stainless steel bolt+nut and cover it all in sikaflex 2. I've hear of some replacement bushing for the wiper linkage and that if the chrome on the ball joints has tarnished they wont last long, so I was thinking of replacing the bushings and polishing the ball joints 3. Is there anything else worth doing with the wiper linkage/ecu box out? |

Specifically about answering question 1 but you might find other useful information in the thread. Check out the following post with reference to Botang's hole with pictures (6th-8th ones down in post):

Thanks for this.
I ended up buying some wind screen glue (sikaflex 221) and a bunch of assorted rubber plugs like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164771305150 I will install one that fits the tightest and smother everything in sikaflex. When i had my octavia 1.9tdi i glued my rear spoiler on with this and it took 3 grown men to remove it so it should outlast the car |
