Default Parking sensor wiring

I washed the D3 at the weekend, and since then the parking sensors have been hit and miss.

Yesterday they did not work at all, with just the hight pitched squeal and flashing green light.

Tonight, much better but alternating between working and then the squeal and flashing light to working again. Mostly working, so was able to use them to park.

I guess I got some water in a connector or something and its not drying out. Could some kind person who has dealt with these before tell me where to locate the wiring connector between both front and rear sensors and the main wiring. I want to take them apart and check for water, assuming I can get to them without removing the bumper.

Well, I'm afraid bumper will have to come off to take them off the car.

Also this is a bit weird. I understand this happened for the first time??
If yes then how comes it didn't happened when it was raining??

Did you used the jet wash??

What if you have a leak somewhere inside the car where connection between front and rear is ???

I will check in a minute current flow diagrams to see if I can easily locate the connector and where is it connected.

Never happened before, sensors have always worked without a problem. This is the first time I washed the car since buying it 2 months ago (I know...) Living on a farm down a muddy farm track (especially now) means the car is never clean anyway.

Washed using a bucket and sponge, and then rinsed. Only thing I can think of is that the volume of water flowing over the car is far greater than when its raining. At the weekend I'll scan the car, it will hopefully tell me which end of the car the fault lies.

...plus, I forgot, there is a 10 or 12 pin connector on the bottom behind the bumper. There are two actually, one for park aid one for headlight washers.
Undo the bottom engine cover and you should be able to gain access unless you have hands like ogr

Both are located on the right hand side (if you stand on front of the car), close to that little fog light grille.

Good luck

Thanks Marcin, if the rain ever stops I'll start with the connections at the front. This has been disturbed a number of times over recent weeks due to the cambelt change and two looks at the air compressor.

There you go, I think you found it before looking at it

Scanned the car this morning, and the fault is with the front left sensor. its showing no communication intermittent. Just need the weather to be better to get at the wiring.

edit: I have been under the bonnet between showers, and can reach the back of the sensor wiring by reaching down behind the headlamp. All feels ok there, need to locate the main loom connector next and check that.

VCDS measuring blocks show that all four front sensors are measuring the same distance, including the one reporting a fault when they are all in working mode.

So the next connector is the one on the bottom of the bumper as the next connection would be in the boot isn't??

What fault was is it?? If it reads correct distance then it can't be faulty or can be??
