As it was five years and about 40k miles since the cambelt was changed, plus the engine temp was often below 90 (possibly the thermostat) I thought it prudent to have it all changed and who else would be better than the D2 Doctor!





It turns out my car is fairly kind and also seems in good shape, although it didn't want to give up the belts without some sort of a fight to which a special tool was created.



MJ's knowledge is outstanding and I'll be looking to go back again to get some other bits sorted out, especially a leaking oil seal. I didn't know that my interior spec was a little unusual for an S8 with swing grey lowers, black tops and light uppers. I like the two tone dash though.

Turns out that the Audi bodyshop bodged my FL1 foglights to fit an FL2 lower valance, I guess it was cheaper than replacing everything, will try to sort that out sometime.
