Springs and shock absorbers
Just quick question...the answer to which I m expecting a no....but can d2 springs and shocks be fitted to a d3?

OK
More to the point can coil overs be put on to a D3? Instead of having the standard air suspension.

You can lower a D3 with VagCom or get lowering links for the slammed look. Air suspension is adjustable by a few clicks of a button, that's what you want - not hard ass coilovers that will need you to jack the car up and grab some spanners every time where a button could do it all, then again you love doing all that sh1t.

I'd hazard a guess at 'no' for the D3.. as there's a whole load of electronics that go with the suspension and height adjustment, but then again I'm sure someone has been crazy enough to do it
 Usually most folks just opt for changing the calibration figures for the suspension to lower it.

Some people who have had adaptive air suspension failure have fitted A6 springs and dampers using some German kit. You may find it with google.
I didn't pay much attention as I cringe at the thought. You can then disable the air stuff with VCDS. I still wouldn't trust it, for example the ESP communicates with the suspension.
