Putting the interior back together pre-MoT. Its not a happy place in there as it has been very wet for some time, such that the terminals for the passenger footwell light just corroded away to nothing!

I had to cut quite a bit of wire back as it was corroded inside the insulation, so made up some repair wires from a scrap harness

Crimped in place and working again

Next job is to repair a few broken trim panels and then clean the mould off the dash and headlining so its a relatively pleasant place for the MoT tester to sit

Another amazing job! Just shows what can be done to a car in such a poor state - only by the right people (person) though! Well done MJ

The car passed it's MoT this afternoon

Last couple of jobs this morning - 1st was to clean the undertray because <puke>:

Much better!

One interesting point to note with the Febi upper arms is that they come with bolts for steel uprights, not aluminium ones. I think they basically used an A4 kit and swapped in the D2 front upper which is disappointing. Meyle therefore are still the only ones who supply the correct hardware.

This is the M10x105mm bolt for the steel uprights - not fully engaged with the nyloc nut. It did the job for holding everything together but is not acceptable to stay like that.

and this is the correct M10x110 bolt for the aluminium uprights (N 10491802):

Some final tidying tomorrow and a wheel alignment on Monday and then its done

Remarkable attention to detail as always, it should fly through the MOT.
You might post some details on how to remove mould from the headlining or what cleaning product you’d recommend for such a task.
Thanks

That must be so satisfying and - as ever - I'm in awe, as I can't imagine achieving even 10% of what you do with these cars - in fact, I sometimes wonder if we're the same species
