Default Window Regulator Issue?

I wonder if any of you have had electric window trouble?
Just popped out to buy some fish & chips and the passenger window would only open ~2-3" and stop. It didn't make any horrible nosies.
To close it I had to press the button 5 times and it goes up 1/2" each time.
Opening it again was a repeat of the above process.
It did this with the button on both doors.
It also did it after an ignition reset.

Does the A8 have a problem with window regulators/bowden cables like some other VAG models?

I suspect they will have issues with the cables like other and I think my drivers window is on its way.

Theyu normally go slow or stop like that when they feel resistance. Its the anti pinch system kicking in I think.

Spray some grease on the runners and cable that you can get to should help.

Was it frosty? Wondering if the runners are swelled with ice crystals

Thanks for the replies.
Well it was frosty/icy in the morning but not so much in the evening.
Yes it was like the anti-pinch system was operating almost immediately.
My wife did try and open a window (but it was frozen shut) a couple of weeks ago when it snowed and I told her off and maybe the damage was done back then and we haven't tried to open it since.
I guess if I take the door panel off in this weather anything plastic will shatter into 3 pieces so will leave it until it's warmer and buy some clips etc...

Well would you believe it - it is normal today. Must be ice crystals or a lump of ice fell in as you say! *touch wood
