Default Bird Cr@p Removal

One of the problems of living near the sea is the frequency of ****ehawk attacks. As bird cr@p contains uric acid unless you get to it quick, it burns into the gel coat. I was too late getting to one on the drivers door and despite giving a good going at with the DA polisher with Fareclas G3/G10 two weeks ago it was still there. So today i resorted to good ol' wet and dry. Gentle rubbing with some 3000 grade got rid of most of the mark (and some of the gel coat!) before some G3 using a small hand pad, followed by some G10 applied in similar fashion. Some Poorboys Black Hole glaze and Natty's paste wax and all was good.

Photo 0292 shows the mark although its hard to see in the reflected light. 0302 shows the end result.

Apparently they eat grit and sand to aid digestion so you have to be really careful even with fresh ****e removal

I use extra deep pile microfibre towels after a blast or two of quick detailer

Here's a tip, best way to remove it initially is sparkling water, the carbonation reacts and bubbles it up and off naturally removing any grit

I always keep a small 35cl bottle in the car

Top tips! The 12 gauge would work on dogs and cats in the garden too!!

Brian: If you want to bring your '8 around we could all have some practice at wet&dry techniques. John (47P2) did his RangeRover all over and it didnt ccome out too bad.

Now, I have a couple of scratches that probably need wet and dry, but I don't have the b***s either. Perhaps one fine weekend I could tempt you with a couple of ciders!
