Default Facelift D2 Rearview Mirror Is Massive Blind Spot!

My wife drove my '01 S8 for the first time today, just a 9 mile round trip to the grocery stores.

She had issues when negotiating tight left-hand corners at slow speeds. The rearview mirror creates a massive blind spot. I too have had this same issue, you negotiate a tight left-hander at slow speeds, and you're acutely aware of the rearview mirror. My wife is a petite 5'4" and I'm 5'11". It doesn't seem to matter how the driver's seat is adjusted, the mirror is right in my line of vision when taking slow left-handers.

Has anyone else observed this? It never seemed to be an issue on both my pre-facelift D2's.

Lol...I've always been aware of it, I've just gotten used to it. It's not an issue whilst on the move. It becomes apparent what driving really slowly, like in a multi-story car park, or negotiating a tight left-hander at parking speeds.

I've got the distinct feeling pre-facelift mirrors are different to facelift versions.

I haven't noticed that, but just because I'm mod maniac the first thing I did I purchased left mirror with blind spot from LHD car. For unknown to me reason Audi only supplies blind spot mirror from driver side.

You've lost me here bud - I'm referring to the internal rearview mirror.

Never had a problem with mine, then again I tend to sit low in the car and the mirror is not in direct line of site.

Multi story car parks, well I do have issues with those simply because the two I use in Poole are very tight 1970's built and getting up / down the ramps is difficult enough due to the angle of approach.
