A8 3.0tdi inlet manifold service..???..Preventative Maintenance
well ive just helped a mate with a clogged Turbo on his A2 tdi (limp mode)
and so we stripped all inlet manifolds off and egr the lot at 80,000 miles i was surprised to see all the black sludge everywhere really caked up he steamed everything spotlessly clean and now it goes like the wind SO i was thinking is this going to happen to my soot chucker before its too late shall i strip it down this winter and clean it all out has anybody done this ? cheers

I’ve no answer, but I’m interested to know myself for future reference. My A2 was fine at well over 100k and I’ve no issues with my 8 at 140k.

I did my manifolds cause I had errors.
I've read about people doing the EGR system and it seemed like a right pain to get to all the bolts but the EGR and manifolds is easy enough to get to. The new parts for the manifolds is about £100+ off ebay for Genuine. You can do it in a weekend if you strip, clean and rebuild. It is worth it personally.
