No... don't quit now David, you'll get better the more you do, I can supply you with a few cars to practise on

I should never have bought a black car, it'll do my head in trying to keep it looking good, the Nite Blue of the Audi is difficult enough to keep but black is a whole different ballgame. One of my pet hates is seeing a poorly kept black vehicle, I mean, why buy black if you can't be bothered polishing it and they look fantastic when done properly

You need to update your sig though, I knew the RR had gone but when did you acquire a Subaru??
Oops, forgot to change my signature, thanks for the reminder

I bought the Subaru about 5 or 6 weeks ago, I'd had the Range Rover 5 years and really enjoyed owning it but it was time for a change. I did think about another Range Rover but I've been there and done that so decided to try something a little oddball this time and since owning the Subaru I've seen only one other the same, there aren't a great deal of them around.

I tend to agree . Provided I can amend this to say "can't be bothered getting someone to polish it" . That's my solution David

Oh...I should never have bought a black car, it's going to mess with my head...Been doing a bit more polishing as I still wasn't happy with the finish, it's almost there now...almost

I have a 3M Sun Gun which is excellent for showing up swirls and marks on the paintwork, it's an expensive bit of kit but nothing else on the market compares and it's as close to natural sunlight you can get. Only problem is the battery doesn't last long and buying replacements are £100+ so for all the time I use it the cost was too much to justify the price. My Sun Gun is 6 or 7 years old and the battery is almost dead so I decided today to try hooking it up to a 12V transformer, but it didn't work so plan B was hook it up to a spare car battery with the C-Tek connected and for the first time in a few years the darned thing worked, in fact it works better than with the original battery and when shone on the paintwork showed lots of swirls so back to the drawing board and out with the polishes again

Some more reflection shots in no particular order

Serious garage that mate, I will make my own like that one day for sure.

Love it, I want a car cleaning room like full wet room, fully tilled or water right, reflective mirror plates the lot. Would be a dream.
