I’m really in the market for a car that does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds max!

No, that thing is a weapon. I didn’t think I could want a D4 as much as I want that thing. Wow. I’d have to sell a house to see that money.

I can only spot a higher red line, which is typical for MRC, but I guess that's what you mean by shift lights ?

How about the radio-controlled clock? Have only driven a D4 S8 once, and the only thing I was looking at was the speed.

Correct IT ... standard S8 Revs to 6200rpm and this is 7400rpm.

It does have shift lights built in to the lap timer screen as soon as you select manual instead of auto the screen changes and brings up a red amber green traffic light shift light and flashes red when you really should change.
Although I have to say, there is so much torque that you don't ever have to rev it past 5k. It's as smooth and effortless as a W12 under normal driving, and then as Brutal as a super car when you decide to over take something

It would appear photobucket.com want 400$ to allow pictures to be embedded in the site?

I don't know if anyone else has this issue?. Can the pictures still be seen or not? Other wise it was a waste of time setting up the account and uploading the pictures!
Any other suggestions for the pictures to display?

There was a work round to this photobucket scam last year that I downloaded and it worked at the time.
Last night I was able to see all but one of the photos but now I too have the 3rd party problem.
This is why I have never used anything like this (photobucket, Dropbox, et al) beause once in you are wide open to blackmail at whatever rate they deem.
I'll try and find out what the get round was. It was wiped when Firefox did a major update a few weeks back.

Yes. Last night I could see all but one. Now I cant see any. I have a workaround fix for chrome installed on my browser.

As for alternatives. Picload.org is quite good, but you have to set the resolution as you post it, it doesn't seem to autoset the resolution for smaller screens by itself. But is a nice simply interface, and really easy to use. Or Flickr works well too. But when you copy the IMG links, you get a LOT of extra code with it (links and such), which I usually delete before posting. I use a combination of both.

As said though, they may, or may not, start requiring stupid amounts of money in the future.

OK
I now have all the photos.
Had a cuppa and it woke my one and only working brain cell. Remembered that it was a Firefox Add On that fixed it last year so went into tools addons and did a search for PB Fixes. Two came up so I installed them both and one of them has worked.
I now have three PB Fixer Addons installed but between them I now have all A8Ian's photos.
I want that car.
Could we come to some kind of financial arrangement?
  1. I give you a solemn promise that I won't run away
  2. I sell you my grandkids
  3. You can have my great grandchild for a very small sum
  4. My kids are growed up now but I'm sure you could find a use for them
  5. Do you want my grandmother?
  6. I'll even let you have my last Rolo
  7. Trust me, I'm an 8 driver/owner

Any chance you could upload the photos here onto the forum?

I've never even been in a D4 so don't know what it would be like, but this sounds lovely and the spec is very tempting. Are you likely to be passing within striking distance of me (M40/M25/M1 arc) in the near future so I could have a look?

And a friend of mine (within walking distance) has a brand new prefabricated, heated double garage where I could hide it alongside his new old (1950's!) V8 toy until the "time was right".....

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
