Default RS4/6 Front Brake Upgrade FL S8

Finally got the RS4 rear discs and calipers fitted today .

Now onto part 2 the front 8 pots.

After a trial fit I need a bracket as the centres on the 4 pot and 8 pot calipers are a lot different and with the bigger disc it pushes the caliper outwards.

I know a few of you have the 8 pot front conversion and it has been done before, so my question is:

Is there an off the shelf bracket I can buy or will I have to fabricate one to fit?

Thanks

Steve

in the uk, aps and amd technik do the rs4/6 to d2 s8 kits but probably won't sell the brackets alone.

but the 3 best audi brake specialists are in germany (of course).
http://www.rs4-bremstechnik.de/ -ebay.de proparts24_de
http://www.urquattro.net/ ebay.de ur1980
http://www.ultimot.net/ -ebay.de ultimot-berlin

they all have ebay.de shops and all do a d2 s8 kit. my favorite is the rs6 c6 390mm kit for our s8's.
or if you just want to ogle all the awesome kits just go to ebay.de and search (audi bremse) and then sortieren nach - preis hochster zuerst (sort-high price first). or here http://shop.ebay.de/i.html?_trkparms...4&_sop=3&_sc=1
you'll have to call them about selling brackets, or get chris or oli to sprach deutsch. chris already dealt with them. john

Steve,

Tyr ringing Ben. He has done many of these conversions and may be able to machine you some brackets.

John/Mike,

Thanks for the info.

I'll give Ben a call tomorrow. If he can't help I'll start working through John's list.

Cheers Guys

Mike

Spot on as usual. Will be visiting AVP soon to have the brackets fabricated.

One more question

I want to fit DS2500 pads front and rear where is the best place to buy them?

Thanks

Steve,

Try either www.Camskill.co.uk or www.motorsportworld.co.uk.

Without knowing the pad part number I don't know which one will give the best price. Play them off against each other. I have the DS2500 pads and I really rate them.

You could also try GSF or europarts

Having read quite a few of the posts in this section I took the slightly rash step of buying a second-hand set of B7 RS4 front and rear calipers and discs from ebay. I say 'rash' because the word 'novice' would probably be overstating my mechanical skill

However I'm willing to give this a go. Am I right in thinking that for the fronts I'll need the caliper mounting bracket fabricating? You mentioned Ben and AVP - do I just need to call AVP and ask for Ben?

Sorry for all the newbie questions - this is my first post and I'm just finding my way around.

Just call Ben at AVP and he will be able to enable you to fit your brakes.
