Sorry Ian I missed your question in the other post. The car is in my ideal colour Daytona in Avant form with optics and plus wheels with black natural leather. Natural leather is just so much nicer then the standard leather and v. rare (standard on the plus) Then it has all the right mods that I would do anyway, MRC remaps are the best in the business and not cheap, it has had most the nigly things sorted and PS999 are the most expensive and considered the best coilover setup for an RS 6 (no cost cutting from the previous owner Eddie) It had an MRC healtcheck and everything sorted and because it was under warranty everything was done by Audi with brand new parts. See below. We havent discussed price yet, he paid £15.5k just six months ago... I would think somewhere around £12kish would be fair. I can't go any higher then that anyhow. I know the previous owners and it is known as being the one of the most pampered 6s around by the RS guys. I know there are some £10k jobbies about but discs and pads are £1,000 a set on these, it wouldn't surprise me if it needed new intercoolers, DVS etc which most RS 6s do. I'm much prefer to buy a properly sorted one such as this.

You'd be very lucky getting that for £12k IMO. Depends if he is desperate to sell quickly I guess.

You seen that they've been chatting about the car and ad on RS246? I'm guessing you have as you know its past ownership Bottom has dropped out of the market, as we know - hate to think how much I've lost on the S8 since December, but at least having bought it cheap enough for what it is there's less distance for it to drop. If the RS6 is due a service shortly and you're prepared to take the risk of it picking something unexpected up (or having the warranty cover it, of course!) then defo worth a punt. Sounds like current owner stretched himself too far in buying it to continue running it? |

yeah with you there on the loss Adrian, but would have struggled to get a half decent rep mobile for the same money I guess, on the plus side anything you might look at as replacement has also dropped dramatically so cost to change is probably not affected much, hoping by end of next year D3 S8s will be around £10k territory

Go for it Amar
Sounds like a well pampered RS6 and and if you can strike a deal at 12K, then a bargain to boot.

It needs a major service now which is about £600 a cambelt change in about 10k miles (every 40k/4years) the belt change is about £1200. The warranty renewal is £720 a year and three years tracker subscription £300. If it needs a front set of discs and pads thats another £1,000. At least I'd be going in with eyes wide open. These RS 6s make the S8 seem cheap to run by comparison.
Thanks for the heads up Adrian, but yep. I know all about this one. Eddie really really pampered it. I mean, brand new Xenons because the old ones were stonechipped. Come on!

Ferrari beating performance = ££££
Mate, if you can get it for £12k, you'd have one heck of a car there!

He wants 14k but it is negotiable. I might be prepared to go a little higher subject to it not having a single thing wrong with it so getting it up on a ramp at an RS specialist. Only thing is someone is bringing an M3 around to his, with an offer of swap and cash his way. I hope he hates it. Nervous now, I've kind of got my heart set on this, just waiting for my head.

MMMM i test drove the rs6 at ailsbury audi and il be honest i was dissapointed don't get me wrong the power delivery was staggering but it lacked the fun toys that the A8/S8 has and also its so much more expensive to maintain the ride i felt was quite harsh and also for that kind of cash you can get an rs6 engine and get it planted into a D2 !! power, luxury saloon and wolf in sheeps clothing nice a8 3.7 badge on the back and giggle all the way down the motorway yeeee haaaaa
