Default Costco fuels

Anyone tried them? I visited today for a "few things" and came out £250 poorer, as you do. They've recently built a station on the site so I thought I'd try out the premium unleaded. Good pricing at £1.20.9 per litre and displayed as 99RON so I filled the 8 up and will see how it compares to Shell V Power which I've used since I bought her 4 years ago. Lately I've been using her more, hence more fuel, yet I get vouchers every so often from Shell for £3, which probably convinced me to try the Costco option. There's also the small matter of more than 10p per litre saving, so that's over £7 per fill up saved too

I'm interested to hear of anyone's experiences with this fuel, thanks in advance

Quick bit of "Googling" suggests it's supplied by Greenergy which again suggests it's the same as Tesco Momentum.

However both the Internet and me have been wrong before so above could be complete bollocks

Pretty sure I've read that before either here or on another forum.

1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I couldn't find anything on here, hence I asked.

This is the only forum I'm on, so I wouldn't know

Cheers Brian, I've never tried Tesco Momentum before, I haven't seen it available around here. The Shell garages are both ten miles away from home so it costs me a gallon before I go anywhere

Correction, there's a garage two miles away that's just recently switched to Shell but I've read too many examples of folk breaking down after filling up there, suggesting their tanks are contaminated, so I won't go anywhere near it

Only ever read positive reviews on Costco fuel, both for quality and price.

Tesco store finder helps Ron, if they stock Momentum it should come up in the listing once you choose the Store, it's also usually much cheaper than Shell.

https://www.tesco.com/store-locator/uk/

eg

https://www.tesco.com/store-locator/uk/?bid=5441

Notice that particular branch has a defibrilator too, handy for those filling S8s when they get the bill

I believe Greenenergy add bioethanol to the "standard" mix from the refinery for Tesco. Greenenergy also supply many other forecourts having got a contract to supply Esso petrol stations. (What does Esso do then - just upstream work I guess?)

Been using their diesel for a good while now. I’ve never noticed a difference in the stuff compared to others’.

Trip before last I filled up the 8 and spent £300 on a bl00dy food mixer.
