Correct engine?

I’ve come across an A8 D2 fitted with the engine pictured, obviously it’s a 2.8 V6 but the engine cover and design appears completely different to all the other 2.8’s I’ve seen?

Does anyone know if this engine was fitted by Audi to the D2 A8, or has it possibly had an engine from a different Audi fitted??
