I feel for you mate.

This is as real as it gets, I've had the letter in my hands - my mate back in 2006 got a camera ticket for speeding 31mph in 30 zone -

Really? I thought you had 10%+1 margin so you could do for example 34 in 30mph zone or 78 in 70mph zone before getting ticket.

Undoubtedly an expensive production - and they went out of their way to brag about it.

They also went out of their way to put two's up at the beeb/top gear at every opportunity, which didn't sit right with me.

I had hoped that with big Amazon budgets, we'd get the banter without the really childish bits that grated on me, but instead of the leash tightening they seemed to revel in proving that when broadcast on the internet, they can do whatever they fancy.

So, in summary, the well produced high quality motoring bits have got better, but they've chosen to amplify the crap in-between also, which for me is a nil gain, possibly a step backwards.

I will watch this series, but not convinced I'd fork out for Amazon Prime again on the strength of it.....

New Top gear had troubles bonding the presenters, but given that Matt le Blanc did a far better job than I expected, and he's heading it now, I think I'm rather going to enjoy the new Top gear equally, if not more than the grand tour if I'm honest.... Seems like I might be in a minority though....

I will give Top Gear another go without that idiot Evans in it. Not the biggest fan of Eddie or ze German 'Lady' but I find Chris's Harris clips very interesting, no silly acting just pure reporting.

And as mentioned I don't like the ''entry level acting'' from in GT even if I find them all entertaining most of the time and ideas they come up with sometimes.

What could not be in GT favour is kind of lack of national identity if you know what I mean. Top Gear is a British show, GT is American, but you only get American audience in opening episode, other than that they will be all over the country, there won't be such a integrity with American audience like it's on the Top Gear. It would be if show was only about American cars, but it clearly isn't, the most of American cars they will get in the opening episode on the desert and thats it.

They got rid of orange ape? wohoo!
I never noticed since I gave up after episode 1 but I also liked Matt LeBlanc.
Maybe I should tune in. I'm not paying for Amazon prime just to watch Grand Gear, I'll get it illegally if I feel the need to watch it that badly.

I really loved it and the opening sequence with the three of them coming together in the Mustangs brought a tear to my eye then I have always been a romantic old fool. However I think the emotion was probably more to do with the amount of alcohol I had consumed on holiday on Thursday night prior to watching it at midnight The secret of their success has always been the chemistry between them and the fact they are overgrown school boys messing about, anyone who watches expecting it to be a serious car show with more than predictable scripting and clowning about rather misses the point I think.

Also Clarkson is a breath of fresh air in this stupid PC, tree hugging, H&S world we currently inhabit

I am looking forward to the rest, well worth the £79 Prime sub IMHO

cheers

Haven't seen this but your comments seem to reflect the programme's Executive Producer's comments that "The films are still three men f&cking about in their own little bubble, wasting everyone's time" - "We're not doing anything dramatically different"

I really enjoyed GT. I was well and truly fed up with the old TG format, so they have clearly made changes and good ones at that.
I'll give new TG another try. Meanwhile I look forward to the next GT
Credit due to Amazon for stumping up and allowing the GT team to get on with it. They have a mega hit on their hands.
Must sign up with Prime now
