Default Front brake discs

Hi all,

AT almost 70k miles it seems it's time to change discs and pads all round. No problem getting them from Eurocarparts, except for the front discs.

Mine is the 4.2tdi with 380mm discs and the only place I can find to get them is the dealer @ £570 per pair!!!

Anyone else found a different, cheaper source for these?

Cheers

I don't think you can get them aftermarket, VAG have some sort of patent on the discs I believe. That said bear in mind the fixed price service scheme means you can have front discs and pads fitted for ~£700 inclusive, maybe worthwhile given the parts only price?

not available aftermarket im afraid

they are 380mm discs and are steel outer with a aluminium riveted centre
to keep weight down

took me 6 months to find a set

the part number is 4H0615301AB .... theres a single second hand one on ebay at moment for £100

Hi,

Thanks for the replies - least I now know why the cost is so high. I had seen that one on eBay but wary about not having a matched pair.
Fixed price scheme sounds good, will look into that.

At least the rears can be had after market!

Cheers

Fixed price works when the parts are a silly price, wipers fired is cheaper than buying the blades at a dealer!

Sometimes have to remind the dealer of the fixed price scheme to get the right price, I wonder how many clutches they do on an a8!?

If you know someone with a TPS account you might get them cheaper
