Default A6 C6 headlights xenon ? poor light

poor is an understatement
dip is rubbish
full been is rubbish

but if i flash the lights with the stalk they are fine and bright
seems like there are 2 extra bulbs for flash only
i just dont get it

I’m probably wrong but I thought the flash was dip/high beam at the same time? It is on my mk1 golf but things have probably moved on since then

It seems that this is a "known problem" and someone has a solution - at a price...

flash seems to put on the H7 bulbs and high beam xenon
it needs 2 people to check whats happening
but the xenons are really useless at night
i also see one of them flashing maybe a faulty bulb
i might look into led,s
cheers

Probably burnt reflector bowls, they can be replaced with the projector, Trup at emtuning comes highly recommended..... but here sit down at the cost.....

The dipped and main beam will likely both be the same xenon lamp, with a shutter that opens for high beam. The H7 will be the flasher, as xenon take a second to light and halogen is instant.

Audi lights of that era seemed to be silver plastic reflectors, which if you open them up will now be brown plastic. When I first got one of my S4's (high mileage) took it out at night, I could only see where I was going by the shadow of the car behind me!!!! Stripe the headlights, new projectors fitted, problem solved, worth the money!

RS4 probably needs it, but not if I only use it in the day 🤣

Worse than mine, which were replaced when the car was 8 years old as they were like candles.....

I paid €400 plus shipping to the Netherlands back in 2013 for "new" bi-xenon projectors to be fitted to my headlights (also an S4 cab), but was literally like night and day afterwards!
