Default Abs sensor part number?

Hi every one

Can someone with a eps or similar help with a part number for the front abs sensor on my 1998 pf 2.8?

Could it possibly be 4D092780 ?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Many thanks
James

Almost.... but there's a 3 missing at the end! 4D0 927 803. If it has a suffix "D" then its for FL (99-02).

Thanks David.

Do you know if the pf and fl are the same sensor? As mine is a pre facelift.

Thanks
James

Not sure if there's a physical difference between PF and FL. I believe there is a difference in the length of the cable on the S8 depending on the original wheel size - 18 or 20inch.

PF is definitely different, I can check tomorrow but I think FL incorporates cable for brake pad warning light, have different connector, cable is routed differently and I think FL is bolted to the hub with single bolt but PF just pushfit without bolts.

FL S8 certainly has fixing bolt - mine was seized and required drilling out.

PF is 4D0 927 803 without letters at the end
FL is 4D0 927 803 E with 20" wheels from factory and 4D0 927 803 D with smaller wheels.

Problem solved.

new sensor was super easy to fit just pulled out nicely.

The only time consuming job was having to remove the arch liner to gain access to disconnect the plug.

All in all a 15 to 20 min job well done

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread

I had a intermittent fault code on front right ABS-sensor, so I guess it will be failing in the near future (might be also dirty).

Looking at sensor prices for 4D0 927 803, the original is about 165€

Triscan 55€
Ridex 15€
A.B.S. 15€
JP Group 21€
Topran 24€
ESEN SKV 37€
Vemo 82€
Stark 90€
Wabco 99€
Bremi 21€

This makes absolutely no sense to me. Which should I buy, and how should I know what is good quality? I don't want any ****ty parts on my car, but 165 € for the original part is also a hefty sum. Thoughts
