Thanks Adrian and Dezzy! both really good prices.
I vaguely remember I too paid £250+ at the dealer.

Mines booked in at the dealership for the 17th March, £120 I think they quoted.
I also asked them to see if they can find where the knocking noise comes from. I already replaced all 8 arms in February and the C links last years. Tie rod ends seem fine but are original 210,000 mile units so may just get them to change the whole inner/outer tie-rod on each side if that is the problem.

Default Perfect 8 Geometry.

what are the correct settings for the various 8's I'm just wondering if it's worthy someone who knows posing up the cambers, toes, etc... for the various models and then perhaps getting admin to get it set as a "sticky" obviously not all the people who have the equipment know how best to set up these cars. As a previous MLR Evo forum user, there were fast road, daily driver, and track, four wheel alignment set ups that were often tried and tested by the various members which were improved over a period of time, by using track days until there was the perfect Evo 10 fast road set up, which was posted for all Evo 10 owners to use and take to which ever alignment company they choose. Obviously the other Evo's 1 through 9 each had their set ups... Just here wondering if that is not something that we could do here for us A8/S8 owners to all use and follow. Yes it would take time, but I'm more than sure it would be worth the effort if we all pulled together.

Regards, Mark.

Model: MY 2008 08 3.0TDI Quattro Sport, Black on Black (Transporter Edition) Lowered 60mm on drop link bars. Alloys swapped out to RS6 style 20" x 9.5". It's got full tints on all windows, and has the black leather interior. Remapped by Elite Automotive in Cornwall, giving an increase output to 290bhp/450lbs.

Options: Keyless Entry & Start, Bluetooth Hands Free, Quad Zone Climate, 3 Spoke Sports Tiptronic Multi Function Steering Wheel, Black Leather Comfort Seats, AMI, Drivers & Passenger Electric Memory Seats, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Bi-Xenons.

Future Plans:
Selling my current Audi A8 Quattro Sport and replace is with a newer D4 Audi A8L with the 4.2V8 Twin Turbo setup once again it must be black. I'm looking for one with the options added where it has the rear recliing seats, with heated outers. Bose speakers minimum and B&O's if affordable. Rear and back door sun blinds prefered.

Planned Mods:
Upon the arrival of my A8L D4, I will be once again having the ECU remapped to a performance setting over economy. Rear Tints as dark as can go whilst also tinting the front windows with a medium tint. Once again I will be purchasing lowering links for the air ride suspension and setting it at 55mm lower when in comfort as my desire rideheight over standard. Alloys will be 21" however the one current most likly to be the next car already has a brand new set of 2016 S8Plus wheels on it.

A8/S8 is not that much track/race car so most tend to stick to manufacturers guidelines. Some who experience front tyre inside edge wear have a bit more TOE to cancel out negative camber but that's about it.

Like Ainarssems said.
most 8s are road cars, so the manufactures specs are fine really.

As long as the car tracks true and no odd ware on the tyres I'm happy.
No need for fast road/track setup really.

Most decent alignment places should know the correct values for out cars or at least their system should.
If not and they are guessing or assuming, go somewhere else.

The standard D2 alignment settings are in the attached file (fm ETKA?) Which should be put up as a sticky in the appropriate D2 section (I thought I had passed this on before but obviously didnt). Its a good read to understand the why's and whens as wwellas providing the corrct figures.
