Default Classic Bump....

I witnessed this yesterday. Real shame to see something so pristine, so old, bumped....

Sat behind him going into the NCP car park at London Bridge. It seemed really hard work to get in gear. I guess the clutch / gearbox leave a lot to be desired by todays standards, but even so it seemed overly tricky.

He got through the barrier and turned left into the first disabled bay, then just as I went through the barrier it suddenly lunged forward straight into the concrete pillar. I really felt for him....

I confess im not even sure what it is, or what it was worth, but it sure looked cherished.....

Ouch. 1969 Triumph 2.5 PI Estate is a rare beast now but not worth a lot of money

My dad's friend had one of these, in that colour. We had a Triumph Herald (not Vitesse, sadly!).

Such a shame and good to see someone using their classic car.

Even in saloon form those are pretty rare - estates much more so. A lot more 2 litre ones left, but the fuel injected 2.5 is lovely for a car in period - same basic engine as used in the TR6.

Can see cosmetic rust around the arches, so may not be as tidy underneath as first impressions suggest. I'm sure if it's on classic insurance it'll get fixed. Parts supply for repair sections is OK, but the bonnet might be a challenge.

ETA - and as an added bonus it's one of few I've seen that hasn't been ruined with a Webasto sunroof!
