Default The D3 wheel thread!

Hello.

Since I couldnīt find a dedicated "wheel thread" I thought itīd be nice having one

For this thread to grow and prosper, we should have a few rules of engangement.
Please try posting the following specs with your photos:
(If you donīt know the specs and you have photos of your car/wheels, your should of course post the photos anyways )

1. Wheel brand, model, width, size and offset / ET.
2. Tyre brand, model and size.
3. Is your car lowered?

Iīll start.

Incurve IC-S5, 20x10.5" ET42.
Michelin Pilot super sport 265/35-20".
Lowered with links.

I very rarely like aftermarket wheels but holy moly, those wheels are gorgeous!

Thanks for posting the pics

1781cc: Tough luck

Tony: Thank you. I actually thought of selling these, but Iīve gotten so much "constructive feedback" on the intended set of wheels, that I think Iīll keep these

265 on a 10.5" rim? That's a bit of a stretch isn't it? Don't get this modern fad of putting narrow tyres on wide rims. But dangerous IMO, but they wheels themselves look good. Very good !!!

Thanks.

Michelin specs 9-10.5" as recommended wheel widths for these tyres, and sure, they do have a slight, mild stretched look, but I wouldnīt call it stretch

When i bought new tyres, I were looking at 275/30, but there wasnīt any tyres of that width with the right load index.
275/35 wouldīve been a bit to fat for the fronts (i.e. possibly not fitted within the front wheelarch), and Michelin PSS are known to be on the "fat" side, so 265/35 it is.

Having owned a number of different cars over the years and because of that joined various Internet forums to help me run them, I have noticed that A/S8 owners conduct minimal Mods (wheels, lowering etc) compered to other marks of vehicles. Just a personal observation.

I believe it may be that some of the original purchase decision-making is about owning a true 'Q car' and so visual changes go against that.

Nothing else is needed for the A8 than lowering and wheels i.m.o.
Iīm usually all for genuine stock wheels, but the stock Audi wheels available arenīt just wide enough for my taste, elsewise I wouldīve bought the 20x9" W12/Sport wheels that look like S-line wheels.

My car has three mods, and thatīs all Iīm going to do with it. Lowering, wheels and a month ago i changed the boot lid to a genuine S8 boot just to get the small "lip".

shame you're in Sweden - I could do with another Oyster Grey standard bootlid - I'd have had that off you if you had wanted to sell it!

Stock facelift wheels are perfect for me, but I might get some different ones for winter wheels
