Yup.. I had all manner of grief with them over an AC issue a few years back. Don't trust the buggers..

I took my car in with a few faults and all six of them had a resolution cost, saying next to it customer declined, yet when I asked them why they've not fixed a single one of the issues they told me it was because they couldn't communicate their computer an software to my car to sort it... Really but you managed to generate quotes from something you couldn't solve?

I've already lost all trust in my Local dealer after paying £315 for them to brake a part of my car and type out my list to them on their invoice with the words "Confirmed Customer Complaint" against each issue Perhaps I should start a bad main dealer experience thread? or good experience, which ever is easiest cover

Regards, Mark.
No this wasn't an Audi Main dealer, they won't even quote for a transmission oil change. This was a local VW/Audi specialist.

Ok, update ...

Chased up and found a local non-franchised Porsche specialist. Seems good for the job, came back quoting for gasket sets, new filter and proper oil. Wants £600 for the job. oh my wallet is hurting already. Did give me the Audi line to begin with about not doing it unless the box was playing up ... really? great time to change the Oil when the box is starting to fail ...lol..

Apparently Porsche do recommend it for their ugly 4x4, but at pretty high mileage 160K so I see on google.

So I'm booked in for next week for the major service and gearbox oil change.
Wish me luck!

On the Saturday I'm driving up to Edinburgh, so this could go really well or turn totally to crap.

£600 sounds a lot, but that may be OK for a D4. If you are coming up to Edinburgh is there not a way you could include a trip to Mackies in Glasgow into your schedule? they are proper ZF agents and charge around £155 for a D2, probably worth getting a quote at least?

600 is pretty much what my D3 cost, though that included a software update.. The LG8 oil is stupidly expensive.
