Ah, saw the "Type 2 Association" (sic) at about 1h43m on the recording but didn't spot you Mike. Where were you in that group?

And Ray, what group/association were/are you in?

My Group is The Beachley Old Boys Association.
Beachley, just outside Chepstow and under the Old Severn Bridge, is where the Technical Training College for Boys was situated. One of if not the very best of it's kind. It was the first and last.
I served there for 3 years from the age of 15 physical but about 7 mentally. From February 1955 to February 1958.

Late call yesterday had me in Liverpool with a coachload of special needs kids today.
Friday I am off to Scarborough for a four day visit but not with The Golden Flash.
Coach trip via Leeds on Friday.
Saturday to Goathland and Whitby.
Sunday Xmas shopping in York.
Monday returning home via Thirsk and Skipton.
Actually had a passenger on the phone today complaining that the tour was too busy, she wanted time to herself in Scarborough. We had to explain that she would not be forced onto the day excursions.

I must have been wicked.
Arrived home Monday planning a few days at home , but . . . .
The next day found me taking some reception kiddies to Delamere Forest on a Gruffalo hunt.
Friday I'm off to Llandudno for the weekend, returning Monday, GoldFlash will be left in the garage.

Ah....Gruffalo hunting at Delamere, a fun day out - I remember doing it with these little tykes a while back. However, I (generally....) prefer mountain biking there.

Either way, a great place to be, with a lovely - if occasionally busy - switchback road through it, and even lovelier pubs nearby .
