Default Xenon levelling

My FL S8 sometimes generates the DIS message for 'headlight self level'.

It comes on even if the lights are off.

It's a PITA because it will 'self heal' and then fault again, causing the warning beep to go off and alarming the driver.

I appreciate that I could simply drop it off at Audi Glasgow, for fixing, but as they recently demonstrated that they cannot even check the gearbox oil level, I thought I'd try here first.

There are 3 components to the xenon leveling:

1) The sensors, mounted on the front and rear suspension
2) The control module mounted at the bottom of the B pillar
3) The xenon headlights themselves

The sensors on the suspension are probably prone to the hardest life, so perhaps could be the first thing to check.....

Found the two transducers on the n/s suspension arms.

Took the plugs off both and dismounted and manipulated the forward one.

Made it worse initially (so it's prolly the front sensor.......dirty pot track maybe???)

Now it seems to be servicable.

What a great car!

It went u/s again and this time I fixed it for good with a s/h front level sensor, (£35 delivered from A8 parts). Thanks chaps!

Very easy to fit. Took about 15 mins.
