Default What tools will I need?

Bit of an odd one this...

I'm currently without a driving license, so my recently acquired A8 is kept off road, at a friends house.

Having only owned it for 3 weeks, and not having seen it since I dropped it round there and put the cover on it, I am itching to get round there for a play. So I am going there this weekend - on the train!!

Over the past couple of weeks I have got some new stuff for it. S8 grills, new polished wing mirrors and a tub of hammerite.

So what tools do I need in my rucksack (god this is sad!) in order for me to complete my jobs this weekend? I have both front grills and complete wing mirrors (other than glass). If I have time I will also paint the rusty calipers!

Thanks.

To change the bonnet grill you will need a large stubby flat blade screwdriver. Inside the bonnet at the bottom of the grill are 3 screws. Remove them and the grill will fall out.

For painting your wheels I would suggest you need:

Socket set with allen key sockets to remove the calipers and strip the caliper from the caliper carrier.
Wire brush to clear the worst of the rust.
Some chemical to kill the rust befor you paint.
A proper jack (not from the boot) to lift the car and remove the wheels.

For the wing mirrors:
a seletion of small sockets
screwdrivers various
pin nosed pliers

At least I got the grilles fitted!!

Started doing the wing mirrors but it soon became evident that I need to remove the door cards as the mirrors plug in presumably behind them. Hmmm...

Debadged the back too which looks look. Kept the 4 rings of course.
