I bet the parties at your house are epic Jim, conversation restricted to 8's, spreadsheets and whisky

Well, as a frequent visitor to The Laird's (and vic versa) the conversation certainly revolves around two of the above - '8s and whisky but then seems to veer off into music on which we have overlapping - but not the same - taste.

That said, the shared liking for music from Ali Farka Toure through Mozart to The Zombies shows an intellectual curiosity which should be celebrated. (I noticeably left out Abba in my A-Z..... does ANY of us have that on their playlists??)

I love cranking up the B&O with a spot of Daft punk, or Carl orff

For a real test try Mahlers 2nd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bdc5n562zZg especially the last 5 minutes.

The most awesome piece of live music I ever heard was this, in the RFH, conducted IIRC by Herbert Von Karajan and with Jesse Norman as the Soprano solo.
The finale was basically Jesse Norman vs a whole symphony orchestra at full tilt and she won!
Some decades ago as I'm sure you can deduce.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I am kinda with Jim on this, musical taste is a very personal thing, nothing posted so far in this thread would make it onto my playlist, however I guess not many of my favourites would feature on others

currently on repeat a lot in my car at the moment

I don't mind admitting to listening to Abba occasionally. It's more Lyn's thing than mine to be honest, but I can listen to it if I'm in the right mood.

Fernando has always been my favourite Abba track for some reason, don't know why. As a kid, my parents owned a copy of Abba's Arrival album, which they frequently played. I thought maybe I like Fernando because it was on that album but turns out it wasn't included on the UK release. So, who knows, maybe one of the reasons I like it is because they didn't play it!

Radio Scotland on very very low. Don't have a clue what's in my CD rack but as far as I remember there is at least 5 discs in there. I hate when I go into my wife's car and start it up, the sound is cranked up as high as it can go.

I don't mind a bit of jazzy blues if I'm cruising around slowly in a relaxed mood. I haven't got any on my USB at the moment. This is the one I have for relaxed driving
