Default more problems

ok so last night coming home the lights were on auto and when they kicked in the light fault light, the esp fault light and the break light came on . Could this be because there was a drop in voltage when the light was turned on? or somthing more sinister?

That's sounds like a problem with the earthing from the ballasts.

Are you sure it was linked to the coming home lights switching on or could it have just been similar timing? Sometimes what you described can be triggered by a faulty brake switch on a D3 which is about £6-7 cost and quick to change so may be worth a look
