Default The Factory options thread

I've been meaning to do this for pretty much the duration that the forum has been up and running, but I think its time we/I formulate a thread which details, pictorially, the options available on the D2 and D3 cars.

My stumbling block has always been photos. To make this of value, we need ideally a picture of the option, along with any give away clues that it might be fitted, to which I can add some details around rough cost and availability etc.

An example might be the heated windscreen, which contains heat and UV reflective coating, and has a purplish tinge, but the real giveaway is the removable panel on the right hand side of the boot etc.

This particular thread, I want to use for forum members to submit any nice photos they have of options or features their car has.

It will get messy, I know. I will hack it all around to make it into some sensible, and probably locked reference thread for the world to access afterwards.

This might take days, weeks or months. It might never end :-) - But it'll never end if I don't start.

Thanks in advance for any photos submitted

Photos to include paint colours, wheel types, equipment options - basically - any factory orderable variance of a UK spec car. I'm happy to reference foreign spec (e.g. parking heater etc) but this will be a UK-centric thread to give me some chance of finishing it

For durability, All photos to be uploaded to the forum please, not linked externally...

OK, I'll start with the "fairly rare" RNS-C in a D2:
(Hopefully someone can provide a better quality picture, this shows it with aftermarket DVB-T tuner signal via the "real" TV tuners AUX-in.)

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

B&O on the D3, pretty obvious if a car has it or not. £4,500 option (£3,775 on S8/W12)

Ceramic brakes. Front 380mm with 6-pot callipers, rear 356mm. £6,000 option, then a mere £5,870 on facelift D3s.

Adaptive Cruise Control. Evidenced by the square trim in the front bumper and different cruise control stalk with the distance toggle on top. £1,470 option.

Fax machine! Actually part of 'Multi-function Communication Unit' which also included a copier, scanner, rear phone and laptop connection. £4,500 option on LWB D3s only.

Side assist. Uses radars in the rear bumper and lights in the wing mirrors to warn you of cars in your blind spot. On/Off via the middle dashboard button. £440 option

Solar sunroof. Keeps cool air flowing into the cabin when parked in the sun. £1,175 option

HomeLink. Programmable for up to 3 garage doors / electric gates. £150 option (then £175 on facelift D3)
