Lcd displays can be done with a steady hand.
Dis needs a hot air soldering station to be done with any degree of success

I'm failing miserably to find any supplier selling replacement screens.
Good thing that clusters can be bought from abroad from as low as £30, but you all guys are saying that this pixel issue shows up after some time of driving so even if s listing has a picture of plugged in and working cluster what guarantee is there that they are in full working order long term/drives.

BBA-Reman down in Rochester can repair dashboards with pixel issues, remove the dash and send it to them and they can normally turn it around in 2-3 days

Yeah, I'm well aware of them and other guys, but the issue here is the milage and clock screens (two little ones), and can't find replacements for sale.

Neil, can they do facelift D2s?
I've seen several people offering that service for the lower-resolution PF versions, but not the FL versions. I really need mine doing, not due to pixels but being blank when cold.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.). 2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Ah ok, that's great then. It could be a much better solution for you guys if price is right especially if they fit new ones unless it's down to one faulty components not the actual screens which made me think now that this could be the actual cause and not the screens.

And if that's what it is than a diy solder job on component like that is very easy. Cost would be minima as well, time it takes not long either and don't need to send it away. Could possibly enquire about it and see if they will share some light on this issue and confirm the fix ... but whoever enquiries about can't sound like they know what they are talking about
