Trip Computer "OIL"
Just waiting for my torch to charge, as the trip computer states 'OIL' when I start it.
Without the manual, I'm unsure whether this is a lack of oil or its a service indicator? Hope its the latter! This torch takes an eternity... |

Service indicator is separate and goes away after a minute or 2.
(the mileage display on mine changes to something like IN 1, meaning Inspection 1, at startup) |

must be service related. surely? |

I can't remember the exact wording but there are 2 if i remember rightly oil and oil2 i think. I'm sure it thinks it's due a change either wasn't reset when you last had oil or needs to be changed. Reset needed.

I think it's OK, I happen to have my manual in my office and just looked.
The service info appears (briefly) in place of the Trip Computer mileage - is that where you're seeing it? The options are OIL, IN 1 and IN 2. I've never seen OIL, but it gets regularly changed anyway at humungous expense! (I don't do a huge mileage so the Inspection timer probably kicks in before mileage warrants an oil change) |

Thanks for checking. I'll relax a bit now. |

Sorry, misunderstood at first, I thought you meant it was in the main display.

which now begs the question...can it be reset without VAG-COM?
