Default W12 front grill

Don’t shoot me for saying this, but I really like the W12 grill and was hoping it’s a straight swap. Anybody know if it’s a straight swap? Also anyone know if there is one for sale at reasonable price? Cheers

It is a straight swap so far as I know, in fact I bought an aftermarket one to fit to my D4 but never fitted as I had to change to car for a Q7 shortly after because of pram issues! I think I still have it in storage, will check later on today

Would like to think it's a straight swap, but be sure to find the right one, as there are four versions of the W12 grille, depending on what options are fitted (prices range from roughly £1,500 to £1,900). All have the additional code T94 (black-glossy). They are as follows:

4H0853651AC - Without night-vision (9R0), without cameras (KA0)
4H0853651AE - With night-vision (9R1), without cameras (KA0)
4H0853651AD - Without night-vision (9R0), with cameras (KA6)
4H0853651AF - With night-vision (9R1), with cameras (KA6)

A quick eBay search found one in the US for sale (eBay 264185032009). Classed as new but not in original box. Price is $299 + $225 postage + $144 (estimated) import charge. Definitely an option if it's the AC one you need, is genuine and doesn't have any damage.

Thanks guys, my one does not have night vision and just the 360 cameras. I saw one on German Fleabay and not sure if it correct model.

Also while I am at it, I would like to upgrade to the later bumper as per attached. My bumper has lot of chipping due to motorway miles. So will need respray inc the bonnet. Anyone know if the newer bumper is straight swap? Anyone know the part number too?
Thanks again

Just checked those variants (J,K,L,M) and they show up as being for the '10-'13 models. The part numbers I listed previously are for the '14-'17 models. Based on what you say, your's should be part number 4H0853651AD (£1,784). If you check the build sticker in the spare wheel well, it should have the PR codes 9R0 (without night-vision) and KA6 (front and rear view camera system and two side cameras).

I'm not familiar enough with the D4 but I think the grille only has openings for the parking sensors and the night-vision camera (which I believe is placed inside the four rings), with the 360 cameras being in the bumper itself. Hopefully someone more familiar with them can confirm.

As to the bumper itself, as far as I can tell, your's is a facelift model (2014) which should therefore have the latest bumper shape (if that was changed in the facelift).

Cheers buddy I will look at it. Don’t want to spend £1.5k on a damn grill tbh. Will keep eye out for SH one.

I've still got the aftermarket one, but it's pre-facelift and one of the mountings is broken! My plan was to remove my current and fit the centre insert into the original chrome outer, this is a common mod in the broader audi world to get things like "RS" mesh into other cars, but never did it as I had to get Q7

If you're interested, drop me a PM, I'm sure we can come to an arrangement that would be significantly cheaper than the dealer.

Also, the sport bumper should fit the wings and bonnet fine, but you might want to check fogs, lower grilles etc. That will make the grille look cheap I suspect 😉

Pic as per PM - in short, dremel to remove inner section of both grills, then bond the W12 inner to your existing frame
