Default Gearbox oil Change

Well last week I finally found the time to change the oil in the gearbox, after buying all parts from TPS, My boss opened an account mainly for me but he does have a Audi.
Well it was worth it the colour is like chalk and cheese and it did smell burnt.
My Audi has done 161000 miles with no oil change to my knowledge, I also tow a caravan sometimes.

This may help you decide for yourself, My brother has a pit in his back garden.

Hopefully these photo's will help some decide.

David

Which gearbox do you have (or car)? Multitronic or tiptronic?

That’s not the full flush then? As I am sure it’s around 11litres

Default Change or Flush?

Lads,

Sorry for a stupid question but I'm not clear what the difference for ATF fluid is, Change v Flush? On reading posts here, it suggests that Audi will just change it but not do filters etc. I'm inclined if that's the case to leave it alone?

Going to hang onto the car for a bit and considering getting a major service and all fluids changed on it....

Any views would be great...

Thanks

You have to make sure that you get the right oil for the type according to your gearbox code, should be able find that in service book or on the gearbox.

As H-M3 and Roberto said about the change itself, I only drained and renewed the filter, this doesn't empty the torque convertor, I think only a full flush will remove 99% of the oil at a ZF specialist, but others will be able to confirm, as they have more knowledge then me.
I did mine because I tow a caravan, but it could do with changing again to get rid of the bad oil.

hope that helps.
