Default Annual Meet 2012 - Location & Vote

The Annual Meet for 2012 has been set for the weekend of the 2nd/3rd June 2012 (some will want to travel to the hotel on the Friday evening of the 1st June also). In order to reccy the location chosen and seek out some things to do we really need to agree the location as early as possible - so no time like the present!

3 Options are being put forwards and they are all further North than 2011 to try and make things fair to those who travelled the furthest to the last annual meet
(the last 3 years meetings have been held in Lutterworth, then Yorkshire, then Warwickshire, so we are trying to vary the locations north and south)

OK here are the choices for 2012 -
  • Blackpool & The Lake District
  • Derbyshire Dales
  • North Wales / Chester / Anglesey
  • Another Location

You can vote for just one or any of the above that you'd be happy to come to, hopefully that way we get as many people as possible to the meet
Get Voting and discussing!! . . . .

Make it the North Lakes - much better roads and fewer people!

And perhaps a wee hill walk - I can recommend a few good ones for anyone up for it

Neil, there was some talk before of a Scotland meet

"As we have met in Warwickshire and are going to Ireland later this year, we are thinking about an Annual meet in BLACKPOOL AND THE LAKE DISTRICT next year, with a later trip to Sconny Botland, to be known as ExplorA8tion Scotland! "

But looking at the schedule might be hard to fit in around holidays etc, and suppose the fact the Irish visit was postponed too makes it a pretty cramped diary?

Well, for various reasons I may well be in Scotland around midsummers day, and a few days either side (think 21/6/12 is a Thursday) so if it's in mid-late June....
(I will be north of Ullapool though and possibly in a hire car )

True Brian but as Ireland was bumped to this year then a longer trip to Scotland will probably have to be bumped to next year - although we are getting a bit nearer if the annual meet ends up at the lake district!

What I have pencilled into the diary is another mini Jock meet as per last year -
April Mini Jock Meet
Scotland - Venue TBC - Late April date TBC

All I need now is a volunteer up there to do the reccy and organise it??

Yeah not a problem, we also have an outstanding winter mini meet postponed from 17th Dec to fit in as well, but would want to wait till the ultimate S8 is safely in the hands of its new owner for that one

as regards next springs mini Jock meet we will agree amongst us up here the organisation of it I am sure

cheers
