Anywhere is good as long as there are some nice driving roads, i mean Top Gear style
its been some time now since i have enjoyed the company of some smooth tarmac accompanied by some twists and turns and scenery that would be the icing on the cake for me this year !

In the fear of sounding ignorant as Geography isn’t a strong point but none of those places listed either in the past or up coming are “South” are they? They are North or Midlands but I don’t want to sound pedantic.

Anyhoo Lake District or the Dales I think for Dezzy as i need somewhere with a grassy area for my tent.

I'd be up for a stomp up tut dale. Also have a small sailing boat, so if anyone fancies a drop of sailing and we're anywhere near Windermere i could bring it with me???

Might be an idea to change the dates, the planned dates are the Jubilee Holiday weekend, which probably means hotels will either be full or expensive

cheers

Thanks Brian we are aware of the dates - the plus for that weekend is that it is a 4 day weekend so everyone has more time around the meet and if they are doing "jubilee things" its likely to be on the Monday/Tuesday of the holiday. Its possible a few more people may decide to go away that weekend but equally possible more people will choose to stay at home and celebrate (not sure the lake district would be more packed due to the Jubilee).

We are following up some hotel leads I picked up when I was on the way to Scotland in the next week or two and Mike is checking a few out on a trip up to that area. Its quite hard to find the right hotels anyway with the need for car parking and a certain number of rooms. I am more concerned about Blackpool being busier that weekend than the lakes and we are trying to look at all options we discussed to make this years meet even better than the last!
