need to find some time to take mine off for closer inspection but if violin rosin is the fix [albeit short-med term] i'll be doing Pavarotti all day long
 ...something i've done today was to remove extra load [tools kit] from the boot, Oiled the same properly and it works much better now. What does occasionaly work though is opening from the remote or via driver's door switch. More to follow...

I just didn't say which weekend...
 One of these fitted on each side of the boot lid by dealer as a fix.

My issue was that the motor was good. Close was fine. But when opening, it would open and then 'get stuck' and shut itself again. It went to audi and this was their fix. They give it some 'spring tension' when the catch releases. It has worked perfectly.

They were supplied and fitted by Audi dealer (under Audi Warrantee). I will see if I can dig out the paperwork / part number for you....

I've got them and they look like they were fitted originally not afterwards. ETKA screenshot attached Buffer as they call it is attached by two rivets to the boot lid, item 19, buffer item 18
