Air Suspension issue
Hiya
Right weird issue, yellow light came on on the dash for level control, ok I thought lets get vagcom out, the only fault code is for level control not learned so I start the process of going through the steps on rosstech, I have the sport suspension so it's 396 front and 376 rear. So setting 1 it lowers to its lowest point, as it should, I can then here a click inside (relay) and a slight clunk in time from outside front left. Now I got really concerned thinking pump/compressor issue but get this, turn off ignition and back on it resets back up to the default height, from here in the mmi and visually the car raises and lowers between comfort and lift without issue. For me that rules out a pump compressor issue ? what's odd is in the measurement values it reads like this Left 120 Right 120 Left 132 Right 122 Figures not exact but you get the idea, the rear left is way out but, between comfort and lift it raises and lowers as needed in light consistently Any clues ? Ian

If the car is sitting level I wouldn't worry about the measurement values

I would ignore it but the yellow light is on, and at the moment it won't go down to automatic or dynamic levels

Sorry I misunderstood you, I thought you had reset it and it was now working, just the values were not what you expected.
The usual items to check is 1. Air leaks. Some soapy liquid in a spray bottle and spray air bags, pipework and valves 2. Height control sensors. Check the electrical plugs are connected properly and no water has managed to find its way into the connectors. Also check the point where they connect onto the suspension is not corroded causing the base to come away and throw a fault. 3. Check the compressor is working properly and not overheating due to overworking. Not sure how much data you can pull from Vag-Com but it might be worth dropping them a note asking for some assistance

Just noticed from your signature that the car has been lowered by 10mm, how did you achieve that?

For those that know, channel 1 lowers the suspension to its lowest point, it's then supposed to go upto normal ready for the setting of the next wheel - channel 2, it doesn't and that's where the clunk starts.

Using the output tests this morning i've determined that the front lowers and rises without issue, all shocks on the soft settings are 1.8a, all shocks on the hard setting are 0.04a.
The problem arises with the rear, lower the left rear, lower the right rear, when trying to raise the clunking starts so i now at least know the problems in the rear somewhere. As to the compressor, well i've clocked both 14 and 15 bar so i'm presuming thats ok too. Any clues, anything else i can try or any values i can give that would help somebody determine the issue ?

Can you do a side individually to raise at the rear? or have an assistant check. Could be that the shocker itself has gone.

From what I remember reading a post elsewhere.. it's DIY if you're capable of changing a normal shock.
