I think about 85L is the most I've managed, but I did have a (full) 9L can in the boot at the time so was prepared to push it a bit.

This was June 2011, was driving for some 10 miles with '0' range left on DIS before filling up. I have done 20 miles with '0' on DIS on another occasion as well without running out. Nominal capacity for tank is 90l but there is a some space for vapor expansion plus whatever fits in filling tube and would not be surprised if it varied a bit from tank to tank like +/- 1%

As you can see I stopped at nice 'round' £125, I could have squeezed more in.

Bet that hurt back then lol - I've managed £110 of v-power but that would've been at a higher pence per litre

ETA - back at home now and the most I've managed to squeeze in is 78.5 litres!

Some people recommend to never drive car after a 'yellow light' as pump running dry can fail any moment. This also significantly reduces life of pump. Is this correct thinking?

I've filled up my S8 (well the previous one to be precise) at this pump in Scourie at £1.50 per litre. About £130 IIRC.
When travelling in those parts I ALWAYS had a full 9L can in the boot just in case!

It's definitely not good for pump to run dry but the engine will start stuttering and cut out before pump is completely dry and when engine stops ECU will turn off fuel pump. Unless you then try to start car on empty tank many times in a row I don't think there will be any significant damage to the pump.
