Default Rear suspension setup

Hi all,

Does anyone have a photo of the rear suspension, as I noticed today that the anti roll bar sits extremely close to the rear suspension arm almost touching this seems odd as if the suspension moves I feel it will hit ?
Thanks all

its normal. may be less normal if your rear springs are rusty and have snapped. very common d2 problem.

I've no idea whether or not the 4.2Q has the same setup as the S8, but you're welcome to pop round and look at and compare with my D2 if it helps

Pre-FL may be different too, I've no idea

Hi mate,

Yes I might take you up on that offer at some point mine is at the garage having a check over at the moment so when it's back I'll have another look and then I'll see if I can pop over

Its normal for it to be very close. It won't hit because it's attached to the hub so goes up and down with the arms.

Ok cool, that's ok then I'm going to start stripping the car suspension down soon and replace all the arms and make sure it's all good also going to clean and paint the subframes while I'm there

Keep an eye out for my prefacelift S8 What's in the Workshop thread then. I'm doing front and rear on that at the moment and there are few little gotchas to watch out for. I need to update the thread when I get time.
