Question Vibration at idle

Yeah, that's right another vibration. Its not missing or hunting & very evident when cold and almost feels like a wobble, my first insticts are dodgy engine/ torque mounts but these are fairly new (replaced when I had the Diff. vibration). My second suspect is the vibration damper on the crank pulley, it started soon after the diff. problem but wasn't too noticable TBH its still livable but I want it fixed JIC it is this damper as it may upset my crank bearings etc. I think the excessive diff vibs have taken its toll on this; what do people think?
Simon Harper has experienced this when he popped over a while ago but this evening when I started the car to go home it was quite pronounced. The vibes decrease or disapear when you rev the engine and it doesn't make a difference if it's in gear or not.
Ian do you have a vib damper for a '97 ACK?

Mate, I have the exact same. Not really worrying, motr annoying and more pronounced when cold for sure. tends to upset the low rev / low throttle driving at 40mph still. TBH I thought it went away a little once I changed plugs and cam cover gaskets, but its back - maybe its the cold. I can free rev the engine in park and it feels smooth as ever.. when it wobbles though, makes no odds if in gear or not. Can't for the life of me work out what it is.. lets try and sort it !

I've just noticed that one of the O/s engine mount bolts looks to be going in at a realy odd angle, perhaps its crosss threaded?

Not sure if its the same, but the wifes Galaxy does the same - Its the 2.8 V6, and I get a vibration when its idling cold, ie choke is on and its running just above 1000rpm. After a few minutes of warming up, it drops below 1000 and its fine...

Never bothered me enough to look into it, but i'd be curious what yours is...

Has it just started ?

If so, a cross threaded bolt sounds unlikely unless you've recently removed the engine...

Its a weird one. I know what SKA is talking about - as I have had it ages. Sometimes more noticable than others - was trying to diagnose as part of the 'low throttle low speed sort of hunting ' that the car does.
Idling on the drive it seems peachy most of the time

you might want to check your jet suction pump tubing that leads to the PCV (N75), then check your N75 to see if there are any abnormalities in the diaphragm. Just ideas, but that's what solved my problem the most.

Not sure if 2.8 30v have a PCV? But will look for a crank vent hose, thanks

No yet properly Simon. Though today it was quite pronounced with a wobble but soon settled almost like it was missing. Will check the TB once I sort my self out.

out of interest what were your diff symtoms when that went on you.. wondering if I am getting that as the cause of the 75mph vibe I was telling you about. Weird how anything up to 60 its fine though, just 70-80. I have to drive at 70 or 85 on the motorway or it annoys the crap out of me and can shake sometimes.. sort of comes and goes like.. well like something out of balance as I have mentioned.. ebs and flows.. something recipricating..
