Sorry I haven't logged in to look at this thread for a while so I will try and answer a few questions at once:

The sound quality is excellent. 9.5/10 compared to the AMI but not as good as a CD. Equivalent to Bluetooth streaming to your home cinema.

I have the AMI but I prefer not to use the Bluetooth streaming all the time and prefer to have an ipod plugged in all the time instead. So I wanted both. This means I went for the Fusion BT-100.

Anything connected to RCA cables in the car will NOT be able to be controlled by the MMI. You would need an AMI unit for that. Since the cost of this little receiver is tiny, I wouldn't expect MMI control anyway. Happily, both the Audi phone and Fusion BT connect simultaneously and do not interfere when music is playing or a phone call is on. The phone Siri can control the music so no need for the mmi control.

To fit this unit you will need:

An Analogue or digital TV module, which has inputs for the RCA. Since specs are all over the place in different countries, you need to check your car to find out if you have the TV module and then buy and fit the Kufatec RCA cables.

When the AV1 is selected the music comes through. The screen goes blank as I have nothing plugged into the video cable. I could easily fit something but I can't be bothered. I usually change it back to the CAR page on the MMI or NAV. The music plays as normal still.

I have now received my AV cable. Is there a picture of the pins on the red plug that I need to connect into.

Many thanks

Here is what I posted in July 2015

I can confirm that the Aux Output gives a video/audio signal for the RSE(Rear Seat Entertainment). The output is whatever you have selected on the MMI.
I do not have RSE so I borrowed Guy's car and used a long RCA cable to send my Output to his Aux 1 input. Whatever I selected on my MMI was relayed to his MMI.

To save any misconception here are the pinouts tidied up:-

Aux Input 1
PIN 09 – Audio Shield left/right
PIN 10 – Audio signal left white
PIN 11 – Audio signal right red
PIN 12 – Video signal yellow
PIN 13 - Video Shield

Aux Input 2
PIN 15 – Audio Shield left/right
PIN 16 – Audio signal left white
PIN 17 – Audio signal right red
PIN 18 – Video signal yellow
PIN 19 – Video Shield

Video output (only for Hybrid-Tuner)
PIN 4 – Video Shield
PIN 5 – Video signal yellow
PIN 6 – Audio Shield left/right
PIN 7 – Audio left white
PIN 8 – Audio right red

Thank you very much. Could you just clarify the numbers of the pins on the physical 20 pin plug. So If I look from the rear of the plug on the side where the cables are inserted, which is pin 1, pin 2 etc so I know following guide above which pin goes where.

Many thanks

Ok, all done. The AV1 lead is on. Only took about 10 minutes. My steps were:

1. Remove interior cover by turning the two plastic screws a quarter turn
2. reach in an unplug the red 20 pin connect. I didn't need to remove the nav player
3. Slide the red cover sideways off the 20 pin connector block
4. make a note of the pin numbers indicated in each corner of the block and then insert the pins on the AV fly lead as per the instructions earlier in this thread
5. Slide the red cover back onto the connector block
6. secure the leads with a tie wrap

And that was it. I just need to add an AV source and test it.

I attach a few pictures.

Thanks again to all for your help. Much appreciated.

Well done.
Thanks for letting us know that all is well.
Great isn't it when it all goes together.
My holdup is readies, have to keep saving up for everything, and just as I think I'm nearly there Mrs management comes up with something urgent, like washing powder or toothpaste needed.

Yes, I was pleased when it all worked! Just need to test it. Going to add a bluetooth dongle to the AV1 input and then pair it with my phone.

I tend to ask for forgiveness rather than permission

Thanks for your help
