Default No Longer Wanted (single 20" D2 FE diamond cut alloy wheel)

Does anyone have a single 20" FE wheel for sale? The D2 size, not D3.
Ideally with a good diamond-cut face, not painted.

One of mine has some bad pothole damage and has been repaired once already so I'm looking at options.

1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I think Neil's was a D3 one which is 1/2" wider, but I'll check if he doesn't reply here.

The "Brand New" D3 one ended up being a D2 one, but has gone to TinTin now, but I still have a couple of FE D2 Spare Wheels at 8.5mm, need to check if they are diamond cut or not (I suspect not so may need doing)

Thanks Neil, let me know what you have.
The potential problem with refurbished/repainted ones is that underneath the coating they may well no longer be suitable for diamond cutting.

I've handed over my damaged wheel to a specialist repairer and await their opinion after taking the tyre off and examining it in detail.

My spare wheel (currently on the car) is "sort of" diamond cut and could potentially be "revitalised", so I have some options.

Apparently the tyre is damaged too, so I'll need to get a new one. But the wheel is repairable.

At the end I will also probably have a part-worn 20" MPSS available. I got it originally from Adrian and have only added a handful of miles so it's still good for a spare at least. Will need to check the date code.

Meanwhile I'll dig out one of my winter wheels (haven't fitted them this year) to be the spare while all this shuffling takes place!

Collected today and the repair looks good, ought to for the price!

The damage to the tyre is a bit odd, a strip torn out of the beading on the outside, could possibly have been done on a kerb or metal edge. The repair place said they really didn't want to refit it and it probably wouldn't be safe for high speed road use.

But I'll keep it in the garage as an "emergency spare" as otherwise it's good and only buy one new tyre for now.

MPS4S's are really good when it's warm, even in the wet, but earlier today (just above freezing) on a damp twisty road in a heavily wooded area my right foot managed to "inadvertently" trigger the ESP warning at around 40mph.

So hopefully I no longer need another alloy, but if you do happen to have one spare get in touch...………..

I'd never leave my Michelin summers on my S8 or Model S after November - though I agree about swapping them back on as late as May Winter PA4s are much, much safer on any winter surface, whether that be snow, ice, or just colder road surfaces. I was in a Model 3 performance on Monday afternoon, shod with MPS4S's, and it was much more jittery than it should have been. Winters all day long between November and April for me.

Me too, normally. It's just that with the warmish weather (mostly), the various issues I've had limiting use of the S8 (and my regular mobile tyre man going bankrupt!) and other factors keeping us busy but not driving much I haven't bothered this winter. So far....

PS My S8 winter tyres are currently Pirelli Sottozero, I think I saw a post saying you had those on one of your stable, just not sure which. (Volvo now has Michelin Cross-Climate all year)
