ROADNAV S100 with Internet 3G for AUDI A8
has anyone installed this unit yet? it seems like a good alternative that incorporates many features, i am really considering getting one....

i know, i've done that to my RS6 C5 and went for the latest RNS-E which is better than the first ones, but on D2 as far as i could get from the forum i will loose the DIS info and don't want to.
Even on the C5, the last RNS-E generation can't be coded unless a downgrade firmware is made, so it isn't quite a plug'n play thing. Right now i am using a B7 A4 coding in the C5 and is alright, just didn't have the time and mood to hassle with the firmware. anyway, this is out of the question now since it has no BOSE compatibility....

You lose turn by turn directions, but you keep the top line track / radio / phone info.
Given that the RNS-E is infinitely better (and faster) for actual routing than an RNS-D I'd personally prefer an RNS-E and no turn by turn than the RNS-D with some additional graphics, but everyone has their own preferences....

hold on a second, i was under the impression that i would lose the DIS info from the Media side, i didn't think of the Nav side as i don't use it here....now under this new shade of info i might just look for an RNS-E then...you're killing me guys
 i've managed to source an RNS-D in Netherlands for 220Eur including shipping to Abu Dhabi, seems like a good deal.@delboy - it is DIS compatible according to the manufacturer, i have been exchanging emails with the dealer which is based in Belgium so he was very easy to deal with and also very honest regarding its capabilities. If it wasn't for the lack of compatibility with BOSE system i would've bought it in a blink
