Great stuff, when you get the voltage step-down unit, check it doesn't cause interference to the radios when there is a load on it as I have had trouble with this from 2 or 3 DC-DC converters in my A8. I had
  • LED drivers : DAB drop out
  • Griffin USB cigar socket charger : weak DAB and FM hiss
  • Cigar to media layer : FM hiss and no TMC for sat nav

I currently have it powered from the power socket in the luggage compartment,

I have a this on order so I can connect it properly in behind the trim panel.
Nice one.

That's a cracking little power unit.
never knew you could get them.

Thanks

Nice work Del

Yesterday I was looking more in-depth at resistive touch screen panels. Maybe you also found this in your research, Link
Not sure if this can be used with the Kivic One.

I'm guessing that you link the phone to Kivic with WiFi Direct?

The Kivic One is purely a wireless link to the phone, for touch screen connection to the phone another system is required.

The route I was going to take is using Mimicsx2, it basically connects to the phone via bluetooth, and allows you to control it remotely.

Have a look at this video and you will see better than I can explain.

Hi All,
Del, did you receive the power supply?
Did it work OK?
Before SWMBO treated me to an AMI I was experimenting with a radio transmitter but found that quite a few of the cigar lighter power supplies could cause RFI(Radio Frequency Interference).
I have ordered one of these PSUs to try it.

I did receive it, but I have yet to fit and try it to see if it creates any issues
