HVAC Fault
At the last scan had this:
Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 4D0-820-043-MYX.lbl Part No: 4D0 820 043 Q Component: A8-Klimavollautomat D13 Coding: 00081 Shop #: WSC 02314 VCID: 2A501329D632B54EE59-255A 1 Fault Found: 00714 - Centre Right Vent Positioning Motor (V111) 41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent There's no noticeable problem with the system and 00714 isnt listed in teh RossTech wiki. Any ideas?

That will be one of flap control motors working intermittently. It will need to be replaced or cleaned. In my experience they can be cleaned and work fine after that. It's carbon dust build up from brush wear sometimes combined with lubricating grease that either shorts or makes poor connection in the motor.

The system wiring diagrams I am using show a number of flap motors and these are either stated as "behind upper/lower left/right) centre of dash on HVAC Assembly" or "Left rear of Engine Compartment". There are no lables such as V111 to identify which one is the one I am looking for. Can anyone help point me to the correct one? and then how to access it?

Sorry, can't help in detail, I have not actually had the issue on D2, only the same issue on C4 and C5. I think there are 2 or 3 accessible from inside and one from outside on D2 but I don't know which is which. I think I have seen a post about replacing them somewhere, IT kind of sits at the back of my mingd replaced at least 1 in the past and had a post here or maybe there was something about it on audipages.
Edit Here is IT's post: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1624 but that looks like a different motor. After quick look on internet looks like thee are at least 8 flap motors on D2. V111 would be right center vent motor. If you go in output tests on VCDS you should be able to cycle through all the motors and it should show on screen which one it is activating, then it's a matter of listening where is the sound coming from when V111 is activated Edit 2 Here are some pdf's from ElsaWin. Also after you do output tests and move flaps from end to end it might clear debri and work OK for a while.
