Default A8 D3 fog lights (projector type)

Hello Chaps

One of my fog lights is cracked and needs replacing. My car is a 2006 A8 and has the round fogflight.

I noted that the earlier A9's have a projector? type fog light. Are these any better than the later round reflector types?

Prices are much the same so figure I could choose the better of the two types.

Thanks!

I bought a replacement pair for my 2006 D3 from Europarts exactly 4 years ago, they were at a discounted price of £22.95 each at the time.

Part numbers were 475441471 and 475441461 if you're interested.

Now priced at £45 each, discounted from £120 each, allegedly. They were £80 each 4 years ago.

Not sure if they fit the A8 it says so.

Do you have a pic of the projector style? Is it these?

If so, it looks like the connector *may* be different as it fits straight onto the H11 bulb base.

You may have to check out whether you need new brackets and you will certainly require new grilles both sides so it will cost a lot more than just replacing one failed fog lamp unit to do the swap over I would guess. . . .

Hi chaps and thanks for the replies - much appreciated

That is my fog-light, I am pretty certain the projector fits in exactly the same grill. However, I am happy to be proved wrong as I was the other day

I can source either for about the same price but my initial question was which one looks better and provides a better light output?

Correct me if I am wrong but they both take different bulbs?

thanks
