Default Every day's a school day!

Was having a browse through a VW Phaeton forum and came across a thread of tips and tricks for the Phaeton, specifically one that showed the sun visors can extend and pull out further to completely stop glare from the side windows.

Lo and behold, it works for the D3 too

Neither of mine (D2 and Volvo) do; It will need an extra level of cleverness in the wiring to the makeup mirror light as well.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Weird, both my S4s did, and my Audi 80 cabriolet - I'll check the A4 when I am home at the weekend

What do you use a sun visor for? Must have been an optional extra on cars for the Scottish market.

Actually its a beautiful day here today and one of the problems is that the sun is always low on the horizon whatever time of day in winter so a sun visor is a necessity.) Talking about hidden features that many may not be aware of, the mini sunvisor behind the rear view mirror on the D2 is often missed. Its neat and works!

Yep, great on the D3 as well, a nice useful touch.

If I'm not mistaken, the Citroen XM was possibly one of the first cars (if not, the first car) to have one of those, although it was considered quirky (and a bit of a joke) when it first appeared on the XM. On buying my first '8, after previously owning 2 XMs, it was a pleasant surprise to find the 8 also had one of those little sunvisors.

Woh. I never knew. Will come in handy when abroad!

Edit: Tried to use this feature driving down the M62 this morning. Turns out my D3 doesn’t have this! Gutted.
